God is not the Universe

God created the universe, but God is not the Universe. The reason you get back what you put in is because that is how the Universe functions.

Notice how if you’re anxious about a certain job task, how you mess up even more than had you not been nervous. Notice how if something is funny, then you find other things to laugh about. Or how if you’re irritated by something how easily everything else irritates you.

Whatever it is you’re doing or feeling, it seems like the Universe is out to get you, good or bad. That was the whole premise of “The Secret.” Our thoughts materialize according to our vision and expectation for the future. Awesome!

But, God is still not the universe. His goal is not to cater to our thoughts but rather renew our minds in order to cater to His thoughts. The Universe does not deserve worship nor should we subject ourselves to the principles of the Universe at all times.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will (NIV).”

Battling the Dark Forces

Prayer is one way we reverse the works of the Universe. It is a spiritual intervention against the universal forces that try to dictate how the world ought to be.

God is a god of order, not disorder whereas the Universe subjects itself to either. While the Universe blows about the wind of mankind’s thoughts, prayer sets God’s perfect will in motion, on Earth as it is in heaven.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9

    1. Thank you for the feedback. Prayer really is a weapon, which is why the worst thing that the enemy can tell you is there are no bullets to your weapon. I have an older blog post called: “https://renewthismind.wordpress.com/2016/09/24/grace-mercy-forgiveness-karma/” that talks about distinguishing between biblical faith and Karma.
